Past MSCs

Welcome to the Gaming Section of MidSouthCon

The Gaming has expanded tremendously at MSC over the past few years, and we had well over 200 games run at the last MidSouthCon. For midSouthCon 27 we plan increase the number and variety of games for the enjoyment of or attendees. For more information about the individual games, see the gaming category page links listed above.

Sessions & Time Slots

Gaming runs from 2:00pm on Friday until 6pm on Sunday. The main start times are as follows:

Session 1 (Friday 2:00pm)
Session 2 (Friday 7:00pm)
Session 3 (Friday 11:30pm)
Session 4 (Saturday 9:00am)
Session 5 (Saturday 2:00pm)
Session 6 (Saturday 7:00pm)
Session 7 (Saturday 11:30pm)
Session 8 (Sunday 9:00am)
Session 9 (Sunday 2:00pm)

Of course not all games will fit neatly into the sessions, so when the schedule comes out, be sure to look it over carefully.

Running Games at MSC Games

Like most gaming and SF conventions, MSC is run by people who volunteer their time and energy, and (in the eyes of the gaming department), none are more appreciated than the people who run games at the con. Whether you are an old hand at running games at conventions or a complete beginner, you will find GMing at MidSouthCon a rewarding experience. We will start taking game subbitions for MSC 27 on July 1 2008.

Benefits

Besides the ever important social aspects and good karma, there are some more tangeble benifets to running games at MidSouthCon:

GM Discount Membership -- If you run 4 hours at MSC you get in at half price. If you run 8 hours you only have to pay a small $5 processing and materials fee (which helps to cover the cost of the gaming program book, etc.). If you run 12 or more hours you get a basic membership for free.
Food and Drink -- To help keep our Gm's and Volunters operational we have hot food and cold drinks for you in the Operations room.
Win Prizes -- GMs will have a chance to win some fun prizes.
GM and Volunteer Guest lunch -- To help show our appreciation and make sure that the GMs get a chance to see our guests, GM's are invited to a special party held Sunday afternoon.
GM & Volunteer Pizza Party -- This is a pre convention event that takes place a month or so before the convention, open to all the GM and other people who volunteer to work at the upcoming MidSouthCon.
MidSouthCon BBQ rap party -- you get invited to MidSouthCon's annual BBQ rap party (usually held in April o r May).
You also gain access to our new private forum 'GM lounge' which we have set up on our website for the people running events at MidSouthCon. It is open to all midsouthcon GMs who have run any events at either of the last three midsouthcons or are planning to run one at MSC 27. To gain access to it, make sure you are registered for our forums then e-mail us at games@midsouthcon.org so we can add you to the GM group.
