Gaming Code of Conduct

MidSouthCon gaming aims to provide a safe, inclusive, and enjoyable e. erience for all attendees. We expect all participants, including attendees, speakers, exhibitors, volunteers and staff to adhere to the following code of conduct:

  1. Respect Each Other: Treat everyone with respect and kindness. Discrimination, harassment, intimidation, or any form of offensive behavior will not be tolerated. Harassment includes but is not limited to offensive verbal comments, deliberate intimidation, stalking, harassing photography or recording, sustained disruption of talks or other events, inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome attention.  Do not do this.
  2. Inclusive Environment: Our convention welcomes individuals of all backgrounds, identities, and abilities. Discrimination based on race, ethnicity, nationality, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, religion, or any other characteristic will not be tolerated. 
  3. Be Mindful of Language: Be aware that certain words or jokes may be hurtful to others, even if not intended to be offensive.
  4. Personal Hygiene: Please maintain personal hygiene to ensure a comfortable environment for all attendees.
  5. Minor Accompaniment: All attendees under the age of 13 must be always accompanied by an adult in the gaming areas. MidSouthCon does not offer daycare services.
  6. Be Considerate of Quiet Areas: Respect designated quiet areas, such as rest zones or panel rooms, by keeping noise levels low and refraining from disruptive behavior.
  7. Respect Gaming Equipment and Property: Treat gaming equipment, displays, and convention property with care. Any intentional damage or theft of property belonging to the convention, exhibitors, or attendees is strictly prohibited.
  8. No Sleeping In Convention Areas: No sleeping in the gaming area or other public areas of the hotel.
  9. Alcohol and Drugs: Beer is available at MidSouthCon. There is also alcoholic beverages in the hotel bar. Alcohol must remain in the Consuite or the hotel’s designated areas. Please drink responsibly. The use of illegal drugs or the abuse of prescription drugs is 
  10. Reporting Incidents: If you witness or experience any violations of this code of conduct, please report it immediately to a staff member or volunteer. All reports will be handled with discretion and confidentiality.
  11. Have Fun and Enjoy the Convention: Ultimately, our goal is for everyone to have a great time. Let’s work together to create a welcoming and positive environment for all participants.

Violations of this code of conduct may result in a warning, removal from the gaming room for duration for the rest of the weekend, expulsion from the convention without refund, or being banned from future events, depending on the severity of the violation.
